Jagarrnath Mahto of JMM won in the 33 Dumri assembly constituency defeating Damodar Prasad Mahto of JD(U) in 2009.[3]Jagarnath Mahto of JMM defeated Lal Chand Mahto of RJD in 2005. Lal Chand Mahto representing JD(U) defeated Jagarnath Mahto representing SAP in 2000. Shiva Mahto representing JMM(M) defeated Maqsood Alam of Congress in 1995. Lal Chand Mahto representing JD defeated Shiva Mahto representing JMM in 1990. Shiva Mahto, Independent, defeated Lal Chand Mahto representing Lok Dal in 1985. Shiva Mahto representing JMM defeated Lal Chand Mahto representing Janata Party (SC) in 1980. Lal Chand Mahto representing Janata Party defeated Murli Bhagat of Congress.[4][5]
